When tanners hear negative stories about UV exposure, you are the
professionals who try to show them that there is another side to the
story. And when you hear negative stories about the indoor tanning
industry condensing, Smart Tan is here to show you that there's more
to that story, too.
Many business owners are unsure what to think when they hear
that our industry is maturing, but this is a very exciting time. We are
moving in a direction where businesses are professional, stable and
standardized; we are moving in a direction where consumers can
begin to trust us. New entrepreneurs continue to enter this industry
because it is a viable, profitable investment when treated like a busi-
ness, as opposed to a hobby. These profit-minded businesspeople are
successfully managing single locations or small chains, and they are
changing what it means to be an independent in the market.
For 30 years, Smart Tan has been providing support, guidance and
training to indoor tanning businesses of all shapes and sizes. As the
market changes and matures, we're proud to represent the profes-
sionals who are strengthening the image of our industry, one tanner
at a time.
This month, we're sharing the stories and aspirations of a few of our
newest Smart Tan members in hopes that you'll see the other side of
our industry's story: a story about potential and confidence.
