prime visibility on one of the town's main roads, the salon merely
shuffed it's services a mile away.
"I have complete ownership of our beautiful new location," says
Nikki. "The landlord was an excellent person to deal with, but
instead of putting money in his pocket, we decided to buy."
Just last May, Nikki's husband and family began the process of
gutting out the property, which once housed three smaller businesses. While collaborating with the contractor, she decided it
was time to move away from the stereotypical tanning themes.
Inspired by the family's trip to Greece and her Mediterranean
heritage, she decided to implement a more serene and upscale
image. Dotted with warm, inviting light fxtures, the salon is comfortable while still being one of a kind. A molded mural of blue
skies and the cheerful logo embedded in the fooring make a
soothing and memorable impression.
Since the opening last summer, Sun Tan USA has already added
more rooms to the foor plan, housing a new stand-up unit and
sunless booth. With the remaining empty rooms, Nikki is gearing
up to introduce more new equipment.
After years of keeping the status quo, the upgrades and additions
prompted Nikki to raise some of the prices on her menu. The
transition didn't come without challenges, but the team handled
complaints with grace and sensibility.
